SERVICE:
Professor Raad has served as a reviewer and panelist for the National Science Foundation. He has also served as a reviewer for Transactions of the ASME Journal of Tribology, Transactions of the ASME Journal of Applied Mechanics, IEEE Transactions on Semiconductor Manufacturing, Transactions of the ASME Journal of Fluids Engineering, Computers & Mathematics with Applications, and Physics of Fluids.

From Summer 1990 through Summer 1994, Professor Raad served as both the Faculty Advisor to the American Society of Mechanical Engineers SMU Student Chapter, and the College Relations Committee Chairman for the North Texas Section of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers.

Professor Raad has been the lead organizer of the Forum on Advances in Free Surface and Interface Fluid Dynamics which was held at the:
  • 1995 ASME International Mechanical Engineers Congress and Exposition, San Francisco, CA (Nov.),
  • 1996 ASME Fluids Engineering Division Summer Meeting, San Diego, CA (July), and
  • 1997 ASME Fluids Engineering Division Summer Meeting, Vancouver, BC, Canada (June).
  • 1998 ASME Fluids Engineering Division Summer Meeting, Washington, D.C., (June).

He is currently organizing this Forum for the ASME Fluids Engineering Division Summer Meeting in San Francisco, CA, planned for July 1999.

COMMUNITY
SERVICE:
Since 1989, Dr. Raad has coached four different soccer teams in the Lake Highlands Soccer Association (North Texas State Soccer Association). He holds an E coaching license, having previously earned the G and F licenses. Currently, he is the skills coach for an under-9-boys team.
